Schatzsuche - Treasure Hunt
. . . in the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa! To be a treasure hunter, just once – who had never dreamt of that? To go exploring, get to know other people, learn something about different countries and prove them-selves in many mysterious adventures together with friends – that is not only fun for children. Therefore, we invite all young and old treasure hunters to go exploring the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa with our game "Treasure Hunt".
Learn and Play
Between 2006 and 2008, a team of German, Polish, Czech and Sorbian teachers and experts developed together with the PONTES agency the quadrilingual educational game "Schatzsuche - Poszukiwanie skarbów -Hledání pokladu - Pytanje pokłada” (Treasure Hunt) about the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa and its languages. This game was planned in large format so that facilities for children, schools, associations and groups can use it. It can be used during the "courses of neighbouring languages" as well as in the "socialising and leisure sector".
During the treasure hunt, the players are going to get to know interesting locations (sights, leisure facilities, regional and cultural peculiarities etc.) in these four language areas of the three neighbouring countries Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Our educational game is suitable for children. Together with their friends, they have to take part in various adventures and additionally they have to communicate in the neighbouring language (German-Polish-Czech-Sorbian).
Parts of the Game
In total there are 44 locations that are presented in the accompanying brochure "Treasure Chest" in all four languages.
Furthermore, the game offers attractive picture cards which teach child-oriented basic vocabulary in all four neighbouring languages.
The thematic action cards, which are orientated towards the syllabus for the neighbouring language courses in the three neighbouring countries, can be used in three different levels of difficulty.
In the brochure "Explanations of Pronunciation", we explain easily and clearly the sounds of one particular neighbouring language in the mother tongue concerned.
To make the use of the game as teaching and learning aid for the teachers during the lessons easier, we worked out a handout with different and already tested variations of how to play the game as well as practical tips.
Who can play this game?
This quadrilingual educational game „Treasure Hunt" is suitable for all people who would like to get to know the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa even better and to learn one or more of the neighbouring languages, i. e. German, Polish, Sorbian and/or Czech while playing.
There are 1,000 copies which can be given free of charge to institutions that work already internationally and/or in fields of learning at least one of the neighbouring languages.
How can I get this game?
Daycare centres, schools, institutions, associations and groups that would like to use the game for their work can apply at the PONTES agency as of now.
