IMPULS REGIO
Initial situation
The Administrative District of Görlitz deals with the issue of migration of highly qualified employees. Furthermore there is an excess of age and shrinking of population. Apart from the demographic shifts an opening of a cross-border economic and labour market lies ahead. In this case we have to figure on further impetus for the labour market which includes an increased demand for qualified employees. For this reason it is necessary to tap the full potential of the labour supply. Especially the young people should gain centre stage to develop professional future for them in the Administrative District of Görlitz.
Project goal
The pilot project IMPULS REGIO deals with the development of methodological approaches in the gender sensible career orientation for girls and boys in the Administrative District of Görlitz in future fields like healthcare sector, social economy and energy industry, which are very important for the district. The aim is to develop a draft for a mentoring programme to support girls and boys in choosing their profession and show them possible paths of development in occupational field “atypical for women or men”.
Project implementation
- establishment of a team of mentors from regional companies in the energy industry and the healthcare sector as well as the social economy in the Administrative District of Görlitz to support actively the competence of young people’s career choices
- preparation of a concrete implementation strategy for the work of mentors with girls and boys
- public relations
Project partners
- cooperation partners of the Education Network PONTES, who have a basic awareness for the special general conditions of the Administrative District of Görlitz through longstanding partnership and reliable cooperation
- regional companies in the energy industry and the healthcare sector as well as the social economy of the Administrative District of Görlitz
- introduction of established networks, especially the methods with the gender sensible youth work into the project “IMPULS REGIO”

This project links up with the results of the project IMPULS FEMININ and “Equal opportunities of women and men in the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa” Responsible for the realization of the projects in the recent years is the PONTES-Agency. It was designed in close coordination with the Administrative District of Görlitz and the Sächsisches Staatsministerium für Soziales [Saxon Ministry of State for Social Affairs]. It will be financed by the European Social Fund.
