Overcoming the demographic change
Initial situation
The PONTES region is an economically underdeveloped, mainly rural area, characterised by above-average unemployment, especially long-term unemployment and among young people. Mainly young women do not see carrier prospects for themselves and leave this region, although they mostly have better grades and qualifications than men of the same age. Already, the ratio of young men to young women is 100:85. On the other hand, today, this faces apparent shortage of skilled staff in various business sectors.
Aim
Closer connection of educational and regional development through:
- the development of educational opportunities tailored to specific regional situations and the needs of regional economy.
- the development of the region to an attractive, state-of-the-art educational facility opening new perspectives for the people living here, especially the promotion of equal opportunities for women and men in regional areas of education and occupation.
