Workshop Euroregional Competence/ Neighbouring language Competence
The Administrative District of Görlitz is a unique learning place due to its immediate borderland of neighbouring countries of Poland and Czech Republic as well as the historically evolved cooperation of four peoples including the Sorbs. The living together in the immediate neighbourhood creates a multifaceted cultural and learning landscape that offers numerous opportunities and possibilities to develop one’s future life and career in the sense of lifelong learning in the most ideal way.
To make use of this opportunities and possibilities it is necessary to have the Euroregional Competence especially the knowledge of neighbouring languages to master the special challenges that emerge from living and working across borders.
The Euroregional Competence is comprised of the sub-competences:
- Information Competence: Knowledge about the neighbouring country or skills to acquire new knowledge about the neighbouring country
- Neighbouring language Competence: German, Polish, Sorbian, Czech
- Intercultural Competence: Skills, which enable to act with people from the neighbouring countries, including knowledge about your own culture
- Professional Competence: Use of professional skills
The workshop Euroregional Competence / Neighbouring languages Competence aims at the development and carrying out of measures and actions that on the one hand side enable the flow of language acquisition and on the other hand side make possible the acquisition or rather the extension of the Euroregional Competence. In this case it is important to connect and develop the existing cultural and education offers in cooperation with the regional contributors.
