Euroregional Centre of Excellence
With the abolition of the restrictions for employees in 2011, the imparting of "Euroregional competencies" as synthesis of neighbourly knowledge, intercultural competencies and Euroregional identity for the people living here is of a special importance. However, the opportunities arising from the growing together are still not used and recognised enough, initiatives and knowledge are not concentrated enough and not purposefully developed.
Bearing that in mind, the PONTES agency carried out the project "Euroregional Centre of Excellence Neisse-Nisa-Nysa" from January 2007 to March 2008. The Euroregional Centre of Excellence Neisse-Nisa-Nysa is the consistent continuation of the network which covers various areas of education with a main emphasis on cross-border professional training and further training. Within the workshop "Learning for the Euroregional Labour Market", a variety of partners of the PONTES network were therefore participating in this project.
The following goals of the project were pursued with the "Euroregional Centre of Excellence Neisse-Nisa-Nysa":
- organisation of new forms of inter-agency co-operation within training and further training
- Euroregional education marketing (trinational education portal
- development of new plans for Euroregional-specific qualification offers for different occupational groups (e. g. subject-specific offers for further training)www.bildungsmarkt-neisse.de, info emails, network letters and specialist publications, Euroregional days of action).
Special focus was given to the numerous workshops which were carried out with the help of German, Polish and Czech persons involved. Subjects among other things:
- "Intercultural Development of Competencies within Educational Training I + II", 26.-28.9.07 /30.1.-1.2.08
- "Vocational Training System in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic", 17. – 19.10.07
- "Professional Education and Training Qualifications in Professional Training", 28. – 30.11.07
- "Intercultural Development of Competencies in Professional Training II", 30.1. – 1.2
The results of the workshops were worked up and partly used in already existing e-learning modules for professional education systems in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic as well as for the potentials of the international economy and labour market 2011.
Furthermore, several one-day educational forums as well as educational regulars’ tables on questions like:
- professional orientation,
- the quality development within the professional education system in, or rather for the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa and
- questions concerning the cross-border co-operation of education providers and the Europeanisation of professional training certificates
- and others
took place.
Further main elements of the project were the planning and carrying out of the days of action "Bildungsmarkt Neisse" in 2007 and 2008 in Görlitz in the City-Center Frauentor. With the help of the days of action, the PONTES agency could successfully refine the concepts of an education fair and ensure its success for a long term. In 2008, 28 exhibitors took part in the fair with the motto "Learning inspires", which 1,500 people attended.
With the help of the project "Euroregional Centre of Excellence Neisse-Nisa-Nysa" and the workshop "Learning for the Euroregional Labour Market" it was possible to integrate cross-border co-operation within the professional (training and) education sector more into the PONTES education network. It was also possible to impart the resulting opportunities and prospects from the common labour and economy market in 2011 to the education providers and circulators of the professional training/education as well as to the people living in this region. With the help of two binational Aim 3 project development workshops, the networking and the continuation of the project could be ensured beyond the funding period.
