Girls´Day - Mädchenzukunftstag (special promotion day for occupational orientation [comparable to: Take Our Daughters To Work program])
Once a year, on the fourth Thursday in April , companies in Germany hold a
Mädchenzukunftstag – Girls´Day , wherein they provide female students with the opportunity to discover new jobs and occupational fields as girls rarely take into consideration in the course of their professional orientation.
In 2007 and 2008 PONTES, in cooperation with various companies in the area, arranged a Girls´Day in Görlitz in the administrative district of Lower Silesia and Upper Lusatia in the sub-project "
IMPULS FEMININ" .

In 2007 more than 400 schoolgirls made use of this opportunity and enquired about offers and requirements of current training opportunities of local companies. In 2008 a whole “promotion week for occupational orientation” was carried out in collaboration with 75 registered companies in the Görlitz administrative district.
A special offer in the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion is the
Euroregional Girls´Day.
It was initiated for the first time by PONTES in 2007, and has since been arranged annually with partners in that area.
There, German, Polish and Czech students explore companies in all three countries of the Euroregion and discuss their plans for the future together in a mutual workshop course lasting several days.”
