Workshop "Border Region Learning Location"
The workshop co-ordinator Andreas Schönfelder is responsible for the content of this site.
Seen from the angle of its historical, economical, cultural and social developments the workshop "Border Region Learning Location" dealt with the mutual residential environment, the territory of the Euroregion Neisse established in 1991. Since 2002 a group of Polish and German members has run this project and met regularly. The results of this work provide a basis for the creation of new educational products.
Dealing with history has always taken place with a view to the solution of our present problems and with regard to opening up prospects for the people living here.
The power industry provided means of subsistence for generations, crated many jobs with a relatively good location, good pay and a high social standing. The drawback of this is the great damage of humane, nature and the building fabric.
Given this historical background experimental learning places in the region on the theme „Energy” were assimilated into a training method “Learning Street Energy” in the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa as touristy and practice-oriented learning opportunity, based on abounding visual aids. The topics of the experimental learning places reach from the history of energy to a sustainable energy future and many others.
