“Learning Street Energy” (Lernstraße Energie)
The result of the networking “Border Region Learning Location”("Lernort Grenzregion") is the “Learning Street Energy” which has cross-linked eight German and three Polish educational and experience venues since 2003. In doing so the main issue was the heritage/bequest and the presence of the haulage of lignite and the electricity in the GDR and Poland. Until 2003 the singular venues devoted to this topic only independently of each other. After their confraternity today each venue stands for its own highly interesting bid concerning the notion of "energy". Together they would like to present the history of the energy and the future of the region to the people, the educational institutions and the visitors of the Euroregion of the Upper Lusatia - Lower Silesia.
The „Learning Street Energy“ combines the following 11 experience learning venues:
- Naturschutzzentrum "Zittau Gebirge" GmbH
- Association "Freunde des Bogatyniaer Landes"
- Brown coal mining Turów
- Power Plant in Turów
- Kulturinsel Einsiedel
- Evangelische Kulturstiftung Görlitz
- SAPOS e.V. - Energiemobil
- Verein bergbaulicher Zeitzeugen Berzdorf-Oberlausitz e.V.
- Energie-Ökologische Modellstadt Ostritz-St. Marienthal
- Umweltbibliothek Großhennersdorf e.V.
- Förderverein Technisches Denkmal & Museum Kraftwerk Hirschfelde e.V., Hirschfelde
All experience venues are in the immediate vicinity of the border river Neisse. With the "Energiemobil" (SAPOS e.V.) a location-independent mobile element has been integrated into the "Learning Street Energy".
