Network Women and Education
On the 2nd of May 2007 the work group „women and education“ (director: engineer Jozefina Simova – technical university of Liberec) was constituted on the event „equal opportunities for men and women – a fair chance?”. Altogether there were 20 participants involved in the work group.
Key issues
- raising the issue of equal opportunities in the local education system
- Why are there role stereotypes in the local education system – does it have social causes?
- Are the foundations set by teachers, teaching aids in schools etc.?
- Same access to education for girls and boys, yet, according to statistics, girls’ degrees are better – Then why do girls fall back into typical role stereotypes as soon as their training is finished?
